Gulf County will begin a beach nourishment and coastal structures project at the end of March 2026 along a stretch of shoreline starting near the Stump Hole (Rocks) and extending 1.1 miles to the North. The project includes adding sand to the beach and installing submerged breakwaters to help keep the sand in place for a longer period.
Work will move gradually along this specific section, with temporary activity and brief closures in the immediate areas where crews are actively working that day.
This is a positive step for the Cape’s future, helping reduce erosion, strengthen the shoreline, improve storm resilience, and preserve the natural beauty that makes this area so special for years to come. Beach nourishment has been part of caring for Cape San Blas, and guests have continued to enjoy wonderful, relaxing vacations throughout past projects. Many experience little to no disruption, and some have even shared that it was fascinating to watch the process and see firsthand how the beach is restored.
